University of Chicago

The University of Chicago is the first university in the US with a school fully dedicated to molecular engineering. Molecular engineering combines maths and sciences with a rigorous engineering education.

Majoring in molecular engineering at the University of Chicago allows you to learn from leaders in this field and conduct research in labs at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. This school contains a large number of facilities including molecular imaging facilities, clean rooms, advanced lithographic processors, etc.

The molecular engineering program prepares you for a “wide variety of careers in technology-focused industries. Molecular engineering students develop skills in engineering problem solving, quantitative analysis, computation, and technical communication through coursework.” Additionally, the curriculum provides a strong background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biological sciences allowing graduates to continue in many different disciplines that incorporate molecular or nano engineering.
